Au Natural Light

Headshot photographers usually sit in two camps. Camp natural light and camp artificial/ studio light. Both have their merits, but I've always been a happy camper in the former, as is The Revenant D.O.P. Emmanuel Lubezki. In itself this is unremarkable, but choosing to shoot 90% of The Revenant entirely in natural light, is remarkable, seriously remarkable! Not least because of the constantly changing variable of natural light, but also because director  Alejandro G. Inarritu chose to film in the frozen wastes of Canada and Argentina, where temperatures dipped to a parky -40c.
